Snake Goddess figurines were unearthed by Sir Arthur Evans in 1903, in the temple repositories of Knossos. They are made of faience, a technique for glazing earthenware and other ceramic vessels by using a quartz paste. They can be seen in the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion Crete.

Depicted by the originals our brass sculptures are handmade in Bulgaria like all our art, in a small workshop. They are individually hand-cast in molds made of sand; any roughness is smoothed away by hand-- they are not simply stamped out by machine like similar pieces. The metal is oxidized, resulting in a black-and-green coloration that will not rub off or chip away. Because of the small number that possibly can be produced they are rare and make great gifts.
